Meet the Executive

All of these people are the ones behind the scenes, voluntarily helping to run the club; they dedicate much of their time to organising events, trips... even sitting out at Manning daily, ensuring you're never alone in the bar. They would all give up their first born child for the club. It should be noted, in making your special requests, alcoholic bribery is a sure fire means of ensuring your demands are met with appropriate enthusiasm and haste. I know we're partial to Jim Beam and Wet Pussys… even Tequila in our declining hours. The 2 litre kinds, people!

  • President – Sarah Debelle

Sarah is doing Honours in Government and International Relations. When she was little she want to grow up to be Britney Spears or Prime Minister. Sarah didn’t know how to ski when she went on her first NZ trip. With the help of her fluoro pink one piece ski suit, her skiing has improved (slightly). However, every time she hops on a chairlift she still excitedly exclaims “Wow! The snow is so white! It’s just so white! And it’s everywhere! And white!”.

  • President – Nick Bruce

Nick is currently in his third year of Physiotherapy at Cumberland Campus. He chose his course because he likes sport (he wanted to be a Wallaby when he grew up) and because he likes anatomy and wanted an excuse to massage girls for a living.

  • Vice-President – Ali Jones

Ali is in her third year of a Science degree. She chose Science because she enjoys the subtle sexuality of a lab coat and wants to remake the song ‘Dr Jones’ by Aqua. This year the Subski Executive started a quote book from their meetings – Ali’s comments take up ten times as much space as anyone else, some gems include:

  • Vice-President – Sam Weeks

Sam is in her third year of Economics. She didn’t want to do Economics. But Sam’s Dad enrolled her in Uni because she refused to come home after three months as ski bum in Whistler.

  • Treasurer – Joey Ross

Joey is currently in his second year of Commerce/Engineering. Joey chose Engineering because his friends were doing it. Joey chose Commerce because there were no girls in Engineering. Joey concedes that he would have been more successful with the women if he had taken Gender Studies rather than Accounting.

  • Sexetary – Jayne Longstaff

Jayne is also is her second year of Commerce/Engineering. She chose her degree because she wanted plenty of opportunity to hit on Joey.

Much like the new Iraqi Government, SUBSKI’s Executive is actually a carefully installed puppet regime. Thus, events like O-Week and New Zealand rely on the true geniuses doing much of the hands-on work – the General Committee.

If YOU desire to become part of the Subski team, the best way to do it is to rock up and have a chat with some of the Executive and Committee members (we won’t bite! Honest.) Then rock up at our Annual General Meeting in late October/early November (important details are revealed on the website and through emails to our members closer to the date).
